The God Who Sees Me

Hagar, in a time of deep desperation, after conceiving a child by Abraham and being mistreated and driven away by her mistress Sarah, encountered God Himself. He told her to name her child Ishmael (God hears), because God had heard her affliction. She then proceeded to name the nearby well Beer-lahai-roi (the well of the living one who sees me). God was attentive even to an Egyptian slave. I venture to suggest that God not only saw and heard Hagar; He knew her pain. He understood her plight even better than she understood it herself. That is the kind of intimacy experienced by the Beloved.

Hi Jenn,

Checking in to say happy new year =) but left wondering about Hagar and Jenn. Parallels? Part of your read thru the bible program? A secret message, coded especially for moi?

You know, I try to have fun on a comment, especially if it's new years eve and I'm doing laundry. Literally every time I spray Shout on stains, I think of you. I never have let the stuff sit long enough before plunging it into the wash. But after your magical words "It hasn't been five minutes," I really am dilligent to Shout it out. I'd never thought about letting it sit before. (duh. . .)

Never know about the impact of your words in the laundry room!!

Be blessed!
Love,
Tara
